About Me
Hello! My name is Summer! I am Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) working in Kitchener, ON and virtually across Ontario. I’ve been fortunate to support children, adults, couples and families through life’s challenges - mental health struggles, trauma, developmental differences, and life transitions.
At the heart of my work is a deep commitment to creating a space where people feel seen, heard, and understood for who they are. Prior to entering the field professionally, my own experiences, along with those of the people I love, shaped a deep curiosity within me and a desire to not only understand but walk alongside others as they navigate their own paths. Prior to becoming a psychotherapist, I worked with children of all abilities and developmental needs as an Educational Assistant and Behavioural Therapist Assistant.
My Approach
I believe in tailoring each session to fit the unique needs, goals, and experiences of each individual. Every person brings their own story and I strive to meet clients where they’re at while using evidence-based modalities to gently guide the process in a way that fosters growth. I regularly check in with clients to ensure that therapy feels safe, supportive, and effective - while adjusting our work as needed to align with evolving goals and make sure that change is happening in a way that feels best for you.
In couples therapy, I take a collaborative and structured approach, creating a space where both partners feel heard, understood, and supported. I prioritize open communication, emotional safety, and rebuilding trust, while also addressing patterns that may be keeping you stuck. My goal is to help couples strengthen connection, improve conflict resolution, and develop a deeper understanding of each other’s needs. Throughout our work together, I check in regularly to ensure that sessions feel balanced, productive, and aligned with your shared goals.
When working with children, I offer a warm, engaging, and strengths-based approach to therapy. I specialize in emotional regulation, social skills, sensory needs, behavioral challenges, and building confidence—all in a safe, supportive environment where kids can feel comfortable being themselves. Using evidence-based techniques, play-therapy, and parent collaboration, I help children develop the skills they need to thrive while empowering families with practical tools for success.
